Privacy Notice

Scan Instantly keeps your scans on your device.

What stays here: your photos of documents, the finished pages, and the text read from them are stored in the app's private storage. They are not uploaded anywhere and are left out of device backups. Text recognition and business card reading happen on your device.

What leaves: nothing, unless you send it. A scan only leaves when you choose to share, print or save it, and it then goes where you sent it. A PDF you send contains the text read from the page, along with the name you gave the scan and the version of iOS that made the file.

What we collect: nothing. Scan Instantly has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.

Permissions: the camera is used to scan. Photos is used only to add scans when you choose Save to Camera Roll. Contacts is used only for business cards. With Add Cards to Contacts turned on, Scan Instantly adds the cards you scan and looks up their email addresses in Contacts to avoid adding the same card twice. Contacts you add are kept by Contacts: they stay if you delete the scan or the app, and they sync if your contacts sync.

Deleting: finished scans are removed after the period chosen in Settings, the next time you open Scan Instantly after that period. You can delete them at any time. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.

This website: sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
